Yeah, guy what's in it? Recipe would be nice also. Don't have anything venison other than sausage, would it be good on pork?

Don’t have haskaps but I do have Juneberries which I think would be a good substitute. Very interesting.

it was pretasting zippy (vinegar), so we added 1/4 cup more sugar just prior to jarring

it’s flavor packed! old school “rank meat” flavorizer

so yes, all strong meats benefit

classic venison, pork/ham, maybe honker breast

I love all this old world stuff - I think older folks like strong flavors in general as their tongues fade ?

I’d substitute 50/50 blueberries and raspberries if I didn’t have haskaps

How does one tell which are tart vs sweet prior to picking? They're all dark as night.

Haskaps are the biggest PITA berry there is as far as picking/cleaning/prepping in my opinion. But they're way worth it.

I just sample a few here or there until most of them seem good. You can let them hang on the bush usually until most are ready to pick. Some varieties are easier to harvest than others, usually you can just lay something on the ground under the bush and shake it to knock berries down.

I have extra Indigo Gem and Honey Bee 1 year old haskap in 1/2 gallon pots this spring. 25 IG and unsure how many Honey Bee at this point, they are at a different location. Anyway Id be willing to sell them for $12 each if anyone is interested in buying them. They are just starting to leaf out, its a great time to plant them.
