That is impressive. The pic in my avatar is a pic I snapped last time I was at the docks in Key West, 3-4 250-350 hp engines is common place and an average sized fishing rig there, can't imagine the fuel bills they run, when I think I have a good income here I look at those boys and wonder what I am doing wrong.

If the ~.1gal/HP @ WOT holds true that's ~170GPH @ WOT. Being supercharged, I'd bet it's closer to 200GPH @ WOT. Figure 91 octane @ the fueling dock @ ~$4/gal and it's $800/hr worth of WOT running. Sort of makes a $200 weekend truck/boat fuel bill almost seem tolerable.

Once you go online and look at Kelly Blue Book you don't realize just HOW MANY different boat brands are out there. Holy..... There must be 1,500 brands of fishing boats. We only see a dozen of them up here, though.

The nicest boats I've seen are Grady White (salt water/offshore) and Cobalt (fresh water runabout/cruisers). Top grade interiors, well engineered hulls, attention to detail top-notch. Also pricey for their size. Neither is particularly fast, both are easy to pilot.

Ranger has set the bar other boat brands are shooting for. I have a lund. Yarcrafts are just plain butt.

I like how the 2020 Larson tiller looks. I'm kind of thinking of getting a tiller boat again. Don't know if I want a big one with a big motor. Kind of defeats the purpose if you still have to put a kicker on it.

Go push on the fiberglass on the side of that Larson boat and see what you think. I've looked them over at sports shows....there's a lot of give with very little effort....I'd wonder about they will handle the abuse of wave action over the long haul.

I was pushing all over that thing and didn't notice any softness. this was the fx series I think with the walk thru wind shield. Just going off interior set up it is much better than the rangers I fish out of. But I suppose it will be a few years for them to prove their durability.

The Pro-V is an awesome boat. I owned one. The Tuffy models all have a larger front platform though.

I run a ProV lund, the front deck where I spend my entire time when fishing is huge. No other brand has that gigantic front end.

Is it the prettiest, driest, best boat on the market? Nope, not by a long shot. But it has exactly what I am looking for in a boat.

My next one will be a fiberglass, whichever one has the biggest front deck, and most sparkles, likely not a Lund.
