Tore out the old carpet in an 80's 16' Lund....looking at some modifications before the new carpet goes back in. Father-in-law wants to carpet floor and up the sides as well to the gunnels. Thoughts on why not to do this? I'm not keen on it.

Is there any kind of light you can get turned on/off easily that'll fit in the end of the net's pole/handle? It oughta always be pointed in the proper direction that way if you can get a wide enough angle and of course get it turned on/off.

just shopping on amazon to see my options may take some modifying on the net but if I make it work ill post a pic

Went and iced a few eyeballs yesterday morning in anticipation of this hurricane. Taking my 4 year old to a movie and then changing the oil in my deep fryer for some deep fried awesomeness during the game. Have been prepping my list of open water lures to order to replace what was lost last year and a couple new things just for fun. Might have to pick up a 6 pack of specialty beer for the game as well.

If it were me, I'd look into spraying the wood with that stuff they use for bed liners. I've seen some guys do that on other boats and it apparently extends the life of the wood and is easier to clean out since you can just hose it down. Installation is quick since youre just spraying it all in there. No clue what the cost is on that though.

I'll be breaking in a new motor just as soon as we can get some decent weather. I've been trying to get to Nelson for the last 3 weeks for that very thing but can't get my work schedule to line up with the weather. I've been staring at this new engine since December and it's killing me!

Hopefully the ramp at Nelson is usable. Several years ago the water was low about this time of year. Trailer wheels dropped off the end of the ramp and it took about two hours and several guys to get that mess out. I bent my single trailer axle in the process. Ramp is probably fixed by now. Anyone else have an issue there? This was the ramp near the outlet.

I think the 2013-2014 winter was like that. I would go off the end of the ramp but it wasn't a problem as long as I was careful. Haven't seen it like that since then.

Time for an extended "get to know ya" session w/the SL900.

Got through 500 20a target loads. Took ~45min to get everything set "just so" and then clicked through stuff pretty good after that. Had minor adjustments to make to the primer feed and the auto case feeder and it was smooth sailing after those were done. Buggered up 10 crimps in the 1st 100 after I fixed the primers and case feeder I had 1-2 every 100 that didn't fold quite right but they're all useable.

Just pulled all my gear out of the boat and got it ready to take in to the shop for a tune up. Reline a couple rods and stock up on some tackle and I'm ready togo!
