What? Beaching your boat and taking pics of your dog from shore. Not familiar with that style.........

Go for sure atleast w/ a 4-stroke motor. I made the mistake w/ my first boat on getting a 2-stroke, the boat was a holdover and an impulse buy and i was pretty young at the time i think 23 if i remember right and didnt do any homework at all. Just wanted a boat, but that thing was so cold blooded it was unreal and the boat was new. I told myself never again would i buy a 2-stroke.

I had a Johnson 115 2-stroke, the old carburetor VRO oil pump version. It was cold blooded and never wanted to idle very well.

The newer direct injected 2 strokes are a completely different breed than the old smokers. If I was buying new I'd probably go four stroke, but I wouldn't balk at an Optimax, Etec, or Yamaha HPDI on a used boat.
