Hand held might be great in a blind or tree stand, but they aren't worth a crap for spot and stalk.

Eh both types of releases have their pro's and con's. For me personally, I get tighter groups with a handheld. I do think they really come down to personal choice, comfort level, and hunting situation. To each their own. I'm pretty sure thousands of deer across the country are killed with a wrist strap release, so I'm certainly not going to say they don't work.

Just curious though on why you don't like them for spot and stalk?

Shooting groups the hand held is great, but I don't like them at all when actually hunting/hiking (think elk in the mountains). Wrist strap is always on my wrist and the release is out of the way yet fast to clip on the string. I don't trust the handheld just dangling from the string, I'd lose it.
