Remember the old days:
Carry on rack in back window to school and most of time pickup was unlock.
Hunted before and after school.
But those days are gone and that is fine, i guess.

But often have a rifle or pistol in vehicle, no bullet in chamber but in magazine, no case, no papers of any kind when i go do whatever. Do i have a problem? Simple yes or no,

What happens if one were to get pulled over and somehow got searched for some dumb reason and they look over the weapon. Lets say said weapon has no serial numbers. Whats the penalty for that? Asking for a friend.

If the firearm was issued a serial number on first build and it's been removed, illegal as all hell. However, there are some firearms that were built without a serial number and those are still legal to own. Guy I know has an old Browning pump 22 that has no serial number on it and it's a legal gun to own. Some of the distinction here is age of the firearm, but I don't recall the cutoff year.

FWIW, on the ND concealed permit renewal. Don't be surprised if they initially refuse to renew your permit until you submit new fingerprints. I had to redo my fingerprints last fall for the renewal. The letter said something about the FBI has upped their standard for prints.

If your buying from a FFL you still need to fill out a 4473 form. That is on all guns from a FFL holder.

Doesn't matter if you have a CC permit.
i had to fill out the form, but he didnt have to call it in. So he has the record. But the govt does not, is how he made it sound. I specifically asked what the advantage to renewing my license these days and that was his response. The govt gets less information about your purchases.

Hmmm, I am going to guess it's as illegal as hell. I am pretty sure the exceptions were all pre-1970.

Then again, if we are talking about a printed gun, I have no idea about the legalities of those things.

If your out in the country driving around, and have a Furbearer and Nongame lic you can legally have a shell in the chamber. And is legal anytime other than Deer Rifle season. You can also shoot at Coyotes and Fox out the window as long as your not on a Federal or State highway.

I don't think there is a simple yes or no answer to this... mainly because the info about the situation is a bit vague... when you say no papers, I assume you mean "no ID" on you correct? also, is the firearm in your vehicle concealed or out in the open? If it is out in the open then I think you'd be fine, but if you attempt to have it concealed, under the constitutional carry laws of ND you'd better have an ID on you and if you get pulled over for anything the first words out of your mouth when the officer should be something along the lines of "Officer, before you start I need to inform you that I have a concealed weapon in the vehicle."

I've been pulled over plenty of times while conceal carrying. Even back before ND was a Constitutional Carry state, I always informed the officer that I was carrying. Did I need to? no... but I'd rather let the officer know up front than have them trip the eff out when/if they find out on their own. You'd be amazed at what some officers will do when you tell them you are CC... 99% of the time they just say "thanks for informing me"....

I did however one time have a BIA officer once tell me to remove my pistol from the holster that was mounted under the steering wheel, clear the gun and place it on the dash and leave it there... he then proceeded to go back to the SUV and write me a ticket... I was pretty shocked. If I had ill intentions it would have been very easy to do him harm. When you take into consideration that he pulled me over at 4:30am doing 87 in a 55 on the reservation, one would think he'd have been a little more cautious...

I guess for me when I go to a gun show I always bring a gun sock with in case I buy a gun, people aren't gawking at you so bad when you have the gun in a sock, and if I'am taking a gun to Minot I always have it in a case

I dont k ow if znyone has posted this or not. Download concealed carry for all states. and update it a couple times during year. It doesnt give you city information, but if you travel a lot at least you know how to store your firearms. If you pull a camper it's considered your home so you should be safe with it in your camper. I have a safe large enough for a few handguns and I have it aligned so the inside mounting bolts go through the floor and end inside the tubular frame. There is nothing for anyone to grab onto to turn and loosen from the outside. Screenshot_20220323-183211_One UI Home.jpg

Well, it's now clear about carrying a rifle or pistol in one's vehicle. The answer: yes, no, maybe, sometimes, depends.

By no paper i meant no paper on carrying a weapon. Have my driver's license and any needed game and fish license. Weapon sometimes in case and sometimes not, usually in front seat out of case. Bullets sometimes in box by weapon. Whatever.

But in deer season one can carry one in vehicle with no case so i will go with that and bullets in magazine, pistol or rifle. And i will not second guess about shooting out window at small game as it appears. db-2
