Does anyone have any recommendations on concrete edging companies in the Bismarck/Mandan area? I need about 250ft of edging around my house. Not looking for anything fancy, just the regular slant style curb and color.

For those of you that have had it done, how's it holding up? Did you opt for the cable reinforcement for the extra $0.75 - $1.00/foot? What, if anything, would you do differently?

Construction was finished in 2016 and grade work was done in 2017, so I'm hoping that the ground is done settling for the most part.

Valley Borders did ours 3 years ago and we don't have any cracks or issues at all. Didn't do the reinforcement either. Price wise I think they were as reasonable as anyone and as far as quality I have zero complaints.

I've been trying to get ahold of them all spring, and still have yet to talk to them. Valley and Castles seem to be the busiest, and also the most expensive.

In SE Bismarck is a company called Curb-It. I've seen some of their work, and it appears nice. I've seen their trucks around. Haven't heard anything bad...

Valley did around 150’ for me two years ago and it’s holding up great besides the spot where I dropped a heavy tree branch from about 20’ up and straight on top of the curbing. Other than that spot it looks great still and I also didn’t do the cable reinforcement.

What are you guys hearing/seeing for prices. Central/rural ND I had a crew out and their price started at $9/foot (0-100') but then with additional footage dropped to $8/foot (100'-300') and $7/foot (300' +). This includes color, stamping & sealing. They blend in some kind of fiber for "strength"?? They don't use cable reinforcement. Is lack of cable reinforcement a deal-breaker?

I just had castles curbing do An additional 90 feet. they did about 150 feet for the fall before last. No complaints easy guys to work with gave me some good ideas as to how to make curves and whatnot so it would look good. They were able to tie right into existing edging by just knocking a few pieces out. I didn't have any reinforcement. $6.25 for colored mowers edge plus $0.50 a foot for prep(had to cut some sod out). Said they were 3 weeks out the week before last ended up having a cancellation and were there in 9 days! worked out pretty well!

make sure whoever does it runs steel cable through the middle to keep it from buckling over time...most curbing looks great the first year or two ... look at some done 5-6 years old makes a big difference

seems like fiber is the way to go - vs re-bar/cables - especially on small stuff

kurtr??

Castles curbing did ours. Great job, worked well with us homeowners, a variety of choices, reasonable rates, and cleaned up meticulously afterward.
they also do a variety of concrete and stucco structures to compliment your home, like mail boxes, stairs, walls, fireplaces and fire rings, footpaths, fountains and stuff like that. A real art form.
Can’t recommend them highly enough.

We chose ours in a form that allows me to cleanly mow along the curb! No whippersnipping!
