I like some of the "smokier" Canadian whiskeys so this made sense in my head.

I cracked the bottle, took a small sip and IMO it tastes like a Mesquite Traeger pellet soaked in rubbing alcohol.

Has anyone else tried it and found anything to mix with it to make it palatable? If not, I suppose I can relegate small quantities to marinades for the next 75yrs or so until it's all used up.

Crown Royal

add them to the list of corporations that sully their own reputation - Danner for instance

also, if it was a Happy Harry’s purchase I’d not hesitate to get a refund

I returned the worst ginger beer on earth just last week

The amount of infused whiskeys that Crown Royal have out now is only good for one thing. Millennials that think it is cool to drink whiskey, but cant handle the taste. Give me a Reserve on the rocks to sip on, and I'm happy.

I'm surprised a mass market product like crown would be that smokey, have you drank many smoky/peaty scotches in the past or was this your first time with anything like that?

I like my meats smoked not my whiskey. Has anyone ever tried Tin Cup? American whiskey made in Denver with the Rocky mountain water. Its my new favorite. I drink my whiskey with water not on the rocks. Don't make fun.

This was the adult trick or treat at the cabin:)

JIM BEAM BLACK EXTRA AGED
This premium 86-proof, extra-aged bourbon ages years longer in white oak barrels than original Jim Beam. It's those extra years of aging that give Jim Beam Black its full-bodied flavor with smooth caramel and warm oak notes.

Jim Beam Black Smooth & Sour
2 parts Jim Beam Black Bourbon
1 part amaretto liqueur
1 part triple sec
2 parts sour mix
2 parts lemon-lime soda
Serve shaken in a tall glass with cracked ice. Garnish with a squeeze of lemon

Good whisky, scotch or bourbon served on the rocks....all that other infused squirrel piss is for hipsters. Damn waste of money.

People who mix good booze with pop should go back to their wine coolers.

As you were.

Yep, tried the Crown Mesquite and did not like it either. I think the only thing it mixed decent with was Squirt.

Crown Royal is not worthy of stripping Krylon off my tactical rifles. Bleach!!

Buffalo Trace/Weller is where it’s at for the $25 bottle of sipping booze. Right now at Harry’s the $35 bottle of Glenlivet 12 is an absolute steal.

I was never a regular Crown fan. Too sweet. If I was a whiskey drinker it would be Jameson.

I've grown into a big fan of quality whiskeys. And have grown less and less a fan of crown. Not surprised they continue the downhill slide and joined the flavored trend.

Anything by High West distillery has been great. Their American Prairie bourbon proceeds go towards preserving critical habitat so you can feel good about going through the bottles quickly!

That's pretty much a whiskey margarita.

I need a splash of water in with the ice cubes however I concur that good Whiskey needs nothing more.

Based purely on the 1st sip, I'd say that mesquite Crown, ice, and a splash of water is going to taste like the bottom of a glass of water used to put out a half-dozen cigars.

Man, never could mix. Straight tequila, Don Julio 70 is great, and straight bourbon, Blanton's so good.
