Devils Lake Ice Fishing

Iffin an idiot (such as myself) were to actually brave the cold/wind this weekend, anybody have any suggestions on what parts of the lake to focus on for walleyes? I'm pretty familiar with the lake but stick to summer fishing mainly. Would definitely be willing to swap intel if anybody else is heading out this weekend.

I heard someone ask a guide why they don't fish up on Lake Alice. He said they are not allowed to fish that because they would fish that lake out too!

This is why I like a few refuges left to the non commercial guys..

Cuz I was with a guide who guided us last year on Lake Alice and the parking area was full of guide rigs and we followed several out to the spot .

It was probably right off the edge of the refuge. Not allowed to on the refuge.

Yep! They sure do. Guides have enough area to cover up there.

I see they lowered temps again and lowered for a week. Getting to busy at work. One try on Sunday and that will end my fishing until open water.

They always seem to do that theis time of year. The warm-up is always forecasted to be about 6-10 days out but we never seem to get there.

It sure seems like the cold fronts have lined up this year with my fishing time this winter.

No problem it's a big body of water up there it's easy to get things confused when you don't have gps. It's says alot about your character to admit you didn't know what you were talking about. :;:cheers

Got back from Irvin Sunday. Was tough going. We had a permanent so it wasn't the run and gun we would have liked, but we pulled out enough for a fish fry. No perch. Fishing in 5-8 FOW under the ice.
