Another company falls victim to emotions. The first time I walked into Bismarck's Dicks I thought it was sort of a city boy pansy store. No gun powder, no bullets, no primers, but they did have guns. I asked a clerk if they had bullets. He said we have every kind you want. Then he took me to the loaded ammunition and asked what caliber bullets I wanted. Ooofta. Not to steal from Trump he is going the right direction with many things, but we are turning into a crap hole country of pansies. Next thing men will be getting tats of Tweety on their ankles and wearing buns in their hair. Oh wait ------- never mind.

that store is a joke. I called about smokless gun powder H1000 to be exact, can get it anywhere I live north Bismarck figured what the hell I don't need to run down south to get some yep apparently I do. they rarely get mu business, and if they do its out of conveince factor for me but that will surely end...good ole graf and sons never lets me down in the reloading game.....except for N570 cant find that shit anywhere have many many lbs on backorder.

jdinny try powdervalleyinc.com they usually have powder and bullets when I can find it nowhere else.
do a google search and try to find me some hahaha. powder valley is out to. I even wrote the Vit head office and they have no idea when the next shipment is coming to the states. I developed a load with H1000 too but it just doesn't get me A) accuracy, B) same velocity, C) pressure like the N570 does. I'm new to the Vit powder shoulda ordered in mass right away but I wanted to develop a load first.

carry on sorry for the hijacked thread

my thoughts exactly. 95% of the people in there are workers. the next 4% are disgruntled customers who cant find what they want the last 1% are returnin customers.

They did. Now they got rid of them in their nearly 30 Field and Stream stores.

Yes I have gone in a couple of times years ago and no they are not Sheels or Cabelas.
So for me it is fine they chose that route but not sure what this will all lead to.

As gun owners we need to support some kind of common sense action and that is not banning AR. There are bills in congress right now to do that and I have no ideal how they will enforce this let alone all the ARs now out there. Do not have one unless a M-1 is one and no desirer to buy one but.

When one brings up banning all that comes out of it is a fight and it does not move on beyond that to find a solution. There have been many answers brought to the table and hopefully those ideals will come to the front instead of banning at the kids expense.

It just we as gun owners need to find answers and hopefully as we give an inch they do not take a foot.
Besides the 2nd amendment I feel the first amendment needs some work when it comes to its guarantees. I am sure the free press will jump on that ideal. Some of these computer games kids play need to be taken off the market. Hollywood needs some censure.
We cannot continue to be on the defense all the time but need to get on offends by promoting sound ideals and solution. We cannot continue to kill kids.
Some need to understand that us gun owners, we are the ones that will and can protect their first amendment but if the guns go so can the first amendment. The NRA needs to step it up and quit fighting and promote as it is a battle that we may lose. db-2

I don't find much in the outdoor sports, such as hunting and fishing, at Dick's. It does have a decent golf section, clothing of various sorts as well as some other outdoor activities like hiking etc. Not a total loss, just not much for hunting or fishing.

I walked into the Dick's here in Sioux Falls just before we had ice. Looking for anything ice fishing. I think they had a total of 5 rods, no augers, 1 sled and can't remember if they had a shelter. Walked to the "gun" area and There was maybe 10 long guns and I don't recall any pistols. Total waste of my time.

One thing that I flagged was the "Field and Stream" stores..... I haven't looked yet, but is Dick's affiliated with the F&S magazine? If they are, it would explain my dislike of the magazine in the recent years.

I just checked my email and in the spam I got an email from F&S

Our Response to Dick's Sporting Goods' New Gun-Sale Policies

Field & Stream Magazine is NOT Affiliated with Dick's Sporting Goods
Today, Dick’s Sporting Goods announced major changes in how they sell guns in their retail locations, so we thought is was important to remind sportsmen of the affiliations

Went to one in Ohio, made one wander around the store, and promptly went out. IMO, it's an "Outdoor" store for people who need a safe space if they get dirt on their shoes. Not a big loss for me as I never even considered going back into one of their stores again.

Wal-mart announced today that they won't be selling guns or ammo to anyone under 21. A guy may want to stop at Dicks and see if they have any deals when Wal-mar quit selling AR's a couple years they and put what they had in stock all on clearance I picked up a a Colt, a Sig, and a DPMS all for less than 1/2 of the original price, their loss was my gain.

A sporting goods store that doesn’t sell modern sporting rifles is like a hooker that doesn’t doesn’t put out.
