would b fun to see donny go an a roll in the next few years and see if he might have a chance at kinsers championship total some day... would also b fun to see a young local guy climb through the ranks over a decade or 2...

would like to have a thread dedicated to updates - tours coming through - local track news - local vids - just anything dirt...

i'm sure tony would put him in a car if he wanted to, but there he would b 1 of bout 50, where now he's 1 of bout 5 every year...

not sure at 40 he could get the ass feel in something else either...

I don't know man...I'm not saying he'd be a threat to JJ; IMO dirt requires more reactionary skill than pavement. Relative: The closing speed and reactionary skill is more intense and critical on dirt. I believe he could drive a bad car well. IMO he could win Bristol, etc. His biggest learning curve would be Daytona and Talladega.

We go to the races in Minot quite frequently during the summer. I think it would be cool to have a race car and just race weekly. But, that sounds way easier said than done.

OH man...you guys just walked into my thread ;:;rofl;) LOL Come to papa.....lol

I raced for 18 years of my life, the last time I unbuckled was 2011...do i miss it? painfully yes...been around it all my life...
Its an expensive hobby let me tell ya, even on a weekly basis. My brother has a full size sprint, actually donny's 2011 house car out of fargo shop before he hooked up with STR I believe. He is just racing when we can, last year we hit 5 shows out of 9 that were scheduled locally, we are getting up there in age so, the sprint car is the last stop for us, I wouldn't race anything. But my advice for those starting out, start at the lowest class possible and learn the ropes, I don't care how much money you have to spend, its not gonna do yo a damn good if you can't drive a car if its more than you can handle. There's lots to learn besides just mashing the pedal.
I have seen too many guys start out in a class thats over their head, just to watch them make enemies because they don't know how to drive and cause wreck after wreck, thats what the hobby stock class is for...beginners...and yes its looks eaiser said than done.
You'll spend lots of time in the garage just getting ready ever week, there's always maintenance to do before every week.

Took me 8 years in the street stock class (hobby) to win my first track championship in willy in '95 I have 3 track runner ups in the mini sprint class as well. So thats my career in a nutshell.

Like any outdoor activity, you have to have the passion for it, to do good in it, otherwise its gets to be no fun.

My brother lives in Mooresville raced with a bunch of Lucas oil guys mainly Barry wright in the late models. Did the NASCAR thing for five or so years hated it but made money. Now he owns his own shock buisness running it out of Barry's shop and Jonathan Davenport is back driving the house car this year so should be exciting year. I see the Lucas oil late models are coming to Aberdeen this year should be a good race. I grew up at the dirt track in Watertown. I miss it living out here with closest track 100 miles away

They haven't put up a schedule yet...we usually hit the WoO show in Minot, he does that for seat time. I'm sure Willy will schedule us in for a night as well as minot and possibly Mandan, just have to wait and see.

Forgot about Pocono. He could win there too.

i think he'd be bored on ovals over the 1 1/2 miles...

When Steve kinser drove the taxi cabs(NASCAR) he said the hard thing to get used to was how slow they were compared to the 410's.

My brother talked with Tony Stewart quite a bit since they were both dirt guys and he said people liked to think there was some carry over from dirt and asphalt but there is little to none. Some people are just wheel men some arnt whatch the Larson kid he is Tony from back in the day if it has wheels he can make it go fast.

I live for the four restrictor races and Watkins Glenn. Martinsville was included in my above "etc". Never been a fan of Sonoma. Don't know why. Anyways, if he were to make a big debut, it should be on a short track or possibly Darlington.

Any one know why Dei was so dominant on restrictor plate races? A hint it was not legal

I believe Kyle larson is the only guy that could dethrone donny if he was running WoO full time, the kid is better on dirt than asphalt.
But he's being offered more money to be on the NACRAP circuit than running sprints. Sadly, money trumps everything.
Racing dirt is donny's preference, I have wondered too, why Tony hasn't offered Donny a ride on the NASCRAP circuit.
Tony's true love is dirt. Clint Bowyer will be replacing tony this year AND stewart-haase has switched to Ford, we'll see well they do.
I don't care for Danica, don't know why Tony ever offered her a ride. smh

I love the local dirt track racing, go to about 20 races a year. Even drove for a few years. Funnest thing ever.
We are lucky to have so many good tracks & drivers in the Dakotas.

Don't like pavement racing or NASCAR.

Sitting at cedar lake a few years back for their 4th of july special both Tony and Danny lawsoki (sp) came and raced lates and mods. Well tony invited every one to the hauler to have a beer and some one asked him if he liked nascar. Answer was not really but it paid the bills for his real racing on dirt.

Last time I went to the local dirty track races out west here, it was about 6-7 years ago. The fella sitting by me got up to get another beer, was already stumbling drunk, and had just pissed his pants.

Was not neat
