I used to fish in the King of the Cats online tournament. It was MN based. Only criteria was that somewhere in the picture was either a King of the Kats hat or a print of the logo. Each year the logo was the same, but the date changes. So it would say King of the Cats 2013 or whatever, and then you'd know that picture was taken in 2013.

So you could come up with a swanky NDA Ice Fishing Contest 2016-17 logo that we could download and print. And maybe some enterprising individual could whip up some hats for those so inclined to purchase. Then the only criteria would be to take a pic of said fish next to the said required logo. Length measurements would be on the honor system.

Correction, the logo was called the "Control Item" and could be a printout or hat.

Maybe run two segments one for early ice and one for late ice…example contest 1 runs from now until Jan. 31[SUP]st[/SUP] … contest 2 from Feb. until ice off … might be easier for figuring out submissions and that way people don’t have to wait until end of season for prizes…

Also also, for those interested. This was me in first place for Channel Cats in 2009. I believe that was length+width measurements for my three biggest fish for the year? I can't remember the exact criteria. All fish were caught from the bank. It was a year of fat-daddy sumos all over the Red River. I was fortunate to experience it on an almost daily basis, thanks to a 2-midnight, 4-day workweek.

I also like the logo idea. Hotspot outdoors did one with a logo placed by the ruler for fish pics when fly fishing. Very easy to carry with when it is laminated.

Sorry LS. My poor sketch skills are, well, poor.

It's supposed to be a lamb, although it's hard to garner perspective on size and age without an adult nearby.
