New to the Fargo area and don’t have a Minnesota license, looking for spots to fish on the North Dakota side that are good. Thanks

If you insist on staying ND, the Game and Fish website and their stocking reports would be a good place to start researching lakes. You will then have at least some minimal info to decide if they are "Good" or not. I would go MN side, and I did when I lived in Fargo, as they have LOTS of lakes within 50 ish miles of Fargo where a guy could enjoy a day on the water and MN doesn't have the wind and blowing snow we have in ND. Just some thoughts. Good Luck!!

Yes, try the Cass Res if you want lots of marks and no real fish......they are in there, just not in any numbers. Brewer is a better bet......

Not many options near Fargo on the ND side. How far are you willing to drive? What are you looking to catch? Brewer and Casselton are the closest. Ashtabula is about an hour away and several smaller lakes just west of Valley City. Dead Colt creek down by Lisbon is another spot.

Not where I'd like to be
Welcome to the 'middle of nowhere' as far as hunting and fishing opportunities go.
I take the 40-50 minute drive into MN for my fishing. Sucks because with an hour and a half round-trip, it doesn't work to just go fish for a few hours. It's pretty much all day or nothing.
I guess there's the Red and Sheyenne rivers...

Ashtabula is a smorgasbord within an hour of Fargo. Good lake to explore and drown minnows (and Busch Lights). Can be decent fishing if you put your time in.

any particular species or distance you are looking for? The game and fish sight is very useful to help give you a direction to try. If you are willing to drive 45min to 1.5hr one way there are lots of options in ND like bluegill, perch, walleye, trout, pike, bass. Good luck.
