Grand Forks citizens help bring an end to high speed chase
Grand Forks, ND 4 people are in custody tonight after a high speed chase that started on I-29 and ended with a search in the Gateway Terrace trailer park.
North Dakota Highway Patrol originally tried to pull a car over 23 miles south of Grand Forks after getting reports of a reckless vehicle.
When officers tried a traffic stop, the vehicle took off leading law enforcement to Demers Ave. where they lost them.
However, citizens and construction workers in the area flagged down troopers and pointed them towards the fleeing car.
This continued for several blocks until authorities finally cornered the group in the Gateway Terrace trailer park after their car blew a tire.
Again, residents helped lead police to the people, who ditched the car, and officers took all of them into custody.
Those arrested include 33 year old Danny DeLong of Belcourt who drove the car, 35 year old Waylon Delong of Belcourt, 29 year old Joey Matthew of Fargo, and 21 year old Christa Davis of Fargo.
Authorities would like to thank the citizens of Grand Forks for all their help in putting this chase to an end.
