Flicker shads and minnows are a great starter bait. They are a pain in the butt to tune, but if you can tune a flicker then the rest of them are easy. Get like 2 of each color when you buy them and go to town. They do catch fish.

Scheels. If trolling in current situations, stay away from the flickers.

IDK about that! Back when OAHE was at its record lows, we nailed them on flickers at PKC. That was when it was a running river with strong current!

I have the most trouble with Reef Runners when it comes to tuning. Rarely does a Flicker Shad ever need it out of the box. Only after its hammered up by a pike have i had problems. But Reef Runners......Its to the point I make sure I have the tuning tool or pliers first before I open a new one!

Ideally, I think I'd troll shad raps or salmo hornets most of the time, but at 2.99 on sale, I can handle having to tune a flickershad every now and then.
