I haven't made this but seems pretty popular in the area. Is it good?
It's a Staple up in this region and is delicious. Melted slices or shredded cheese on top and I put ketchup on mine with dinner rolls.
Chicken hotdish w/ side of pickled beets is right up there in my book.

Oh so it's just cheezy tots. Gotchya. I wasn't sure. Some people use ground beef, chili, peppers...Seems to be different every time I ask.

See? It's like the magic spinning wheel of casseroles. When I first moved here, I was very confused lol
It's kind of whatever you make of it. It is common around us to use ground beef, cream of mushroom (or similar), green beans (or peas or corn or mix) tots and cheese (some don't use cheese).
Early on after the wife and I were married I came home and she actually made one for us (normally I was cooking) and when she got some for me she instantly said that I will probably want to add something like hot sauce because it didn't have much flavor. I was nice the first couple bites then started adding stuff to it, it wasn't bad just no flavor, she has got better with time.

My wife no likey mushrooms, so she no cooky with them.
Cream of mushroom is as far as I go, unless it's onions/mushrooms/butter for my steak. Baby portabellas or white are my go-to's for steak.
