So I was fishing in the dark the other night on the Missouri River and it was a little windy, blowing upstream. Generally you want to cast downstream so this meant casting into the wind. Since the wind was preventing real long casts, I would generally leave my bail open and let the current pull out some extra line. Buddy showed up later on and stood downwind of me a little ways so we could visit and fish at the same time. Keep in mind it's dark out. We had been fishing for quite a while. I make a cast, leave my bail open, but the line doesn't feed out so I start reeling, I feel a little resistance so I give it a little tug. Buddy says "Hang on, your lure is stuck in my hat".
