I was trying to come up with an estimate for what it will cost schools, emergency crews , state fleet and city / county crews per year on extra fuel prices but it's all broken down separately . Add them all up and it's a lot money.

Throw in some free school lunches for everyone, now think of the bills that we will be supporting.

Ethanol sucks! It's terrible on small engines, bad mileage on gasoline vehicles, attracks water, etc.

If you find another way to fund the infrastructure we travel on, I’m all ears. The fact is we can’t be anti tax with everything and this is as close to a true user pay system as any tax we pay. Drive more = pay more. It’s not perfect, but actually likely should be raised as the federal Highway Trust Fund isn’t covering the costs of infrastructure upkeep. Why? The federal gas tax hasn’t increased since 1993. We’re deficit spending to cover the costs now. The system is really broken but like most services that come with taxes, everyone bitches when they are poor or go away, but still bitch about the tax beforehand.

Oh I'm fine with it but we are taxed for the gas, we are taxed for vehicles, we are taxed for property, which are all supposedly going to the same purpose. When is enough enough???

gas at sams 3.81 today. I paid .79 cents a gallon when i first drove --- it shot up to a buck and it was the end of the world. Anyway run inflation calculator on it its pretty close to what i paid today.

People don't remember because the media didn't talk about it everyday. Haven't hit Biden's peak yet, but ever since prices got back to where Biden left them all you hear is how "gas prices affect the price of everything else."
That is a true statement but was never reiterated during the previous term.

If the public were to demand less maybe. But we’re paying taxes and things still aren’t being kept up. It’s not a government problem. It’s an overall expectation of quality of life from society in general. Every government contract goes to a company who has employees that want to live well. And the costs all filter back to us. It’s that way with everything in America and we pay for it in everything we consume, drive upon, etc. Its why we outsource to shit countries, so we can spend less and maintain the quality of life we want. Not trying to be a commie here but at some point in time we’ve got to acknowledge it. Top dollar expectations don’t work on a bottom dollar budget. SD just let a bid to reconstruct one interstate exit. 78 million dollars. I’m not saying it’s out of line, I’m saying shit is expensive. But we’re fools if we think taxes will decrease when society expects more every day.

With the dumb specs the dot uses they drive up costs for no net gain

Example One area uses 1b pea rock on the same road as the next area uses 1a . The 1b is produced twice as fast and cost half as much as the 1a . All that does is cost tax payers more for nothing the chip seal both wear the same.

Might still peek in on certain subjects as a viewer on occasion but pretty sure I've reached my expiry/best by date/pinnacle on 95% on the fronts of which these websites were intended for.
