Well the best vehicle I have ever owned was a 1999 Tahoe. The owners now have over 200K miles on it . with just maintenance. It towed boats from Bismarck to Sak , this is before the tow mode days . Hauled Hide a beds easily and about anything else you could haul . I ended up going to a pickup because I started hauling gas cans . I hate the damn dust in the pickups but I guess its a trade off

Depends, intended use,

5.3lit has been through alot of changes since 2007,6.2lit,cast iron block, bullet proof paired with a i90 10spd automatic gives 20+mpgs empty/lite loads,5.3 town type family rig, sufficient as well.
Goodluck iffin your buyen.

That's a dice roll,my PO after many years with GM guyz purchasing a 1500 truck with 6.2 powertrain usually purchase the high trimline package and usually sell or trade off when they hit 70 to 100k miles

150k,best run the vin # to view 2016 history if your dealing with a dealer have them pull the vin # history, this way youll see how many owners accidents, major repair history etc.

Personally i would pass on that truck unless you know the previous owner and know this high mileage rig was babied 150k with lots of hiway miles

We have a 16' GMC Denali XL with the 6.2L, we're at 235K and it's still "running". A LOT of gravel miles on it. We've had it since new. Haven't touched the motor or the tranny thus far.

Ahhhh pretty sure the 6.2 was just a bored 5.3.........the 6.0 was a cast iron block..didn't think the 6.2 was. The 6.2 has iron sleeves..if that's what your referring to?.

Yep, buddy had the 5.3, took a shit on him with the shut down cylinder issue. $7 k to repair, asked About doing the other side right away. Shop said should be good. 380 miles later the other side went. Shop fessed up and only charged 1/2 price for doing other side. Truck went down the road after that.
A few of the 6.2 have had the issue but not near as bad as 5.3. I stayed clear of GM an did EcoBoost so can replace turbos instead 🙄

You are correct,6lit and now 6.6lit stump puller, cast iron block.

Back in 2022 GM had limited availability of 6.2,talk was phasing it out, same with 6.6lit,hopefully we'll move forward with our fossil fuel powertrains.

I remember mid 80's till early 1990's

Gm put the kibosh on big block v8's,305 was top dog for a few years, finally later in 1990's reintroduced 350,454 w/ fuel injection ( throttle body) kinda looked like a hybrid 4 barrel carb to me with more hp and torq, if GM stays the course of small engines, fuel economy they'll screw the pooch.

Our salesman runs a 6.6 gasser he has 40k or so on it so far and loves it I run the 6.6 Duramax pulling a 35ft gooseneck I have 26k on it so far and also love it the put the dodges of the same style to shame I can't say anything about Ford's. We have had lots of problems with the 6.4 hemies and the Cummins

The fuel management systems on the chevys and fords turned reliable engines into ticking time bombs. Avoid all of them. 5.0, 5.3, 6.0, 6.2 do your research!

All brands have troubles lets face it, none better than other gas or diesel. I have been GM fan forever guess I got the good one's. I do have family that own mechanic shops so I do avoid some of not so nice vehicles. I run all mine up to 200K with just normal wear and tear. I do like 6.2 better than 5.3 not brain surgery more hp and torque. Will see in few years when get newer 6.6 gas. Not big turbo fan on little gas engines have to twist them up to get going good with newer 10 speed shift all damn time. I hate my company equinox little shit turbo motor, shifts 5 times before hit 35mph and dog on quick starts, the up side 27 MPG in town.
