So should sex ed stop cause someone gets assaulted thats dumb thinking more education is always better then nothing period
I think parents are the only ones that should be broaching the topic of sex and sexuality with their children. Additionally, I was talking about guns, not sex. Get a grip dude.

Has anyone from Fargo brought your kiddos to the Red River gun club ? They sure did a good job of training two of our grandsons. I was impressed how safety conscious they were after taking hunter safety and getting trigger time with range officers.

I know what you were talking about i do agree Parents should be the ones to educate but we both know they don't so any education is better then none don't you agree pertaining to guns and sex...or anything for that matter

The truth of the the matter is the public school system isn't perfect but its what we got we arnt 1%ers that get private education and for many home school isn't an option and from what I see brings socially awkward kids that don't know how to act but thats another topic.. so I believe more classes should be taught not less cause its the only education many get maybe more classes and more focus on education will raise salaries and bring more teachers cause there is definitely a shortage

I can't even imagine our public school system trying to teach gun safety. It would be a complete shit show. So many rabbit holes for them to go down and get lost. If it costs $100 per student to teach in the private sector. It would cost our public school system at least $2,000 grand per student.

Hunters safety isn't what it used to be if you've never hunted or handled a firearm it won't help much all you need to do is show up

Do they actually shoot in classroom hunter safety ? I suspect some teachers are better than others at getting the point across. As far as schools offering it , I'm all in if it's in conjunction with shooting sports and then should be required that the coach be certified and teach it pre season and all season to every team member , there's nothing better than one on one coaching .

In LaMoure most every kid that went to school from about 1980 till about 2010 or so were taught Hunter Ed. The Shop- Ag teacher taught the class twice a year for both 1st and 2nd semesters. He did a very good job with the kids.

I believe Edgeley was the same way, however Ellendale was not in school. We did get to go shoot a round of trap afterwards. We all knew how to shoot anyway, it was just a formality. This was mid 80s

I to would like our state legislation to propose this as a class for our schools, granted hunter safety classes are offered already but I believe that gun education should go much further than that. What do the rest of you guys think about this article and would you support a petition for getting this on an election ballot if the state doesn't want to propose it.
I would like to see legislation to remove the Gun Free Zone signs in all public schools and to mandate that every staff member in a public school be required to take training and carry a concealed weapon provided by the school. This would pretty much end school shootings or at least minimize casualties. Anyone who opposes this idea must want these shootings to continue for their own agendas.

Wally: You're "jumping the gun". No guilty verdict at this point, and inocent til proven guilty in a court of law. And it's ONE EX-director in question. Not directors (plural).

Schools should do away with history, math. Few care about history anymore and math..., pull out your phone. Sad but true.

Required teachings should be " speech ".. speak clearly without mumbling, say the words Bro or Dude in a conversation, 1 week of scrubbing toilets!.
Saying Thank You has become a thing of the past.
Saying Your Welcome, (same).
Physical Fitness NEEDS to be addressed!. HUGE problem with kids today!.

Teach them SKILLS. Cooking,Carpentry, Farming, anything!

FireArm safety, im all for it!

The days of teaching readn, writn, rithmatic have passed. Long ago....

Edited to add.., dismiss everyone in your life that identifies as queer, gay, Trans. Let them go on with thier miserable lives alone!
You support them, your part of the problem!
