How to change my avitar?

Excuse my ignorance but how do I go about this?

Go to settings in the upper right corner. Then edit your avatar. Browse to your picture . Upload your picture.

In those settings there is a "profile picture" and an "avatar". The profile pic is for when folks look at your profile page, the avatar is for everywhere else.
