I wrote this last week after a hunt. It was one of those perfect sits. You know what I mean. There was no shot, but that doesn't matter. That's not the point.

A evening sit like that just does the soul good to be with nature.

This my first year bow hunting. My son bought a bow last and told me how enjoyable, yet challenging it can be. So I bought a bow this summer on BisMan and have really enjoyed practicing, getting the ground blind set, setting game camera and get misc accessories ready. Spent several nice afternoons/evenings out in the blind. Since it is my first year, I just wanted to get the experience, so I ended shooting a nice doe Halloween night. Hopefully my son can sit out in the blind and get a nice buck. We have several nice bucks coming in, but mainly at night. Only a couple times the last 2 months did they come in during daylight hours. I suspect that after next weekend they might be more on the move.

I must agree though...I sure love bow hunting. Wish I could stick another one.

Years ago my young son wanted a bow and I gave in and bought him one.
then he said you need one.
That was twenty years ago and other than three mule deer hunts the rifle has sat in the cabinet.
What you people have experience I have experience for the last twenty years. Just wish I had started sooner. db
