IRS phone scams

Anyone else getting these phone calls? I got two just today and another one a couple weeks ago. Reported it to the IRS phishing police. I kind of wish it'd be a real person so I could mess with them a bit.

everybody is getting these calls. My kid did take one that was a real person; plus i have had clients that have had live people. My kid toyed with them good.

Bottom line is that they need to advertise that this is happening. Sure a couple news stories have been covered -- but they (IRS our Govt) need to spend some money and advertise nationally. I have had clients give out information and these thieves will pickup on anything said.

Agreed. I have been telling people that the IRS communicates almost exclusively by mail. Don't give info.

I've been getting several of these. Unfortunately with my job, I don't always have the people that may call me in my contacts. So I usually answer with a simple hello. If its an automated system, its an immediate hang up. They don't tend to call from the same number 2x. So the block caller really doesn't work. Don't really know what a guy can do about it either.

Had one a few weeks ago. Reported it but haven't heard anything back. The gal gave a name and license/officer number, had a case number, left a message on my phone. Called back and they said I owed $8,123 from an audit between 2009 and 2013. Asked me if I wanted to contest it or basically settle up. She hung up on me when I asked them if they were asking me if I had enough money to pay the bill after they just crawled up my ass for 5 years.

I always politely ask the person how they can live with themselves and why they don't choose to make an honest living.

What's weird is that they almost always swear at me and hang up even though I'm just trying to help them improve themselves.

Got the phone call last week. Had the guy, his name was Jeff(Pakistan accent), get so angry with me when I asked what his real name was, that he hung up on me.

They quit calling me. I kind of miss toying them. Hopefully they will call back. I had so much fun thinking up a good story to tell them each day that I actually looked forward to their calls. I told one guy I wanted to give him all my money but I needed his information for me to do so.

Funny thing was 4 of us all got the same call within an hours time all on our cell phones last week at work. We were just talking about it when I got a call I put it on speaker and all got a good laugh out of it. They used o be live calls I had fun with them when the told me they would send for my arrest I would always ask if they wanted to confirm my address sot they can find me and always got an instant click.
Now they are all robo calls.

I also tried to fuck with them. But, the fellas English was so poor, i eventually gave up. It became annoying real fast when my humor kept going over his head.

Are they calling cell phones?

Everyone at work the other day was to a cell phone so yes and my phone is listed on the do not call list as well but when one gives it out for purchases and other daily things I think a lot of companies share and sell this info so its a snowball, either that or they just do random computerized number dial ups who knows for sure but it can be both frustrating and entertaining depending on the circumstances.

One of my all time favorite commercials right there, I used to work with a guy who was moody a lot of the time and when I would see his number on my cell when he would call I would always answer the phone this way and always got him to laughing.
