How does this system compare to the other big names like vivint, ADT, etc.?

You are a DIY'r just research smart home hubs and all the options you can add on. I priced everything out once and for around $600 I had the controller and door and window sensors, alarms, controlled thermostat and even a outlet i think. You can do some cool things with the smart home controllers. And it's all self monitored and controlled by you.

This is kinda the route I've been looking at. With the research that you've done, are there any hubs you would recommend? I've just started looking at a few of them, but would like something dependable that works with a variety of systems.
