That's one of those rides you need a large life insurance policy unfortunately I don't, what about a video of a intermediate ice auger ride.

I wear a hoodie with a string nearly every outing - for 30 years - ha ha (as a liner under the carhart)

seems like pinching that catch/bail wire down (making it a water drop shape rather than a U) - making it harder than heck to open, would work pretty well

I used the pins with the square bail with angle towards 'free' end of bail bent more acute so bail loop was up against auger shaft and that did help, as I recall it still can happen on extension if I got lazy about clearing chips out of hole.

Also going to look at a clevis pin like this. I am really not concerned with detaching quickly, just want to keep the powerhead and auger together better then the provided bolt. I think with the clevis pin, I could take the retainer pin and bend it so it wouldn't fly out. Could also do like guy and trim the pin so there isn't much sticking out and drill a new hole for the retainer pin. Will work on it this weekend and post pics. 1277118.jpg

I recently ground a groove on one end of a pin for a c-clip - did it with a hack saw blade and spinning the pin in a drill. For another application. Worked great.
