we fest just put a hold on ticket sales that were supposed to open this week. I am assuming the price will rise.

Has anyone heard the gun firing? I believe it was a bump-fire stock. Full auto is a bit more consistent. These shots were not.

Plus, even with Nevada's lax gun rules, I think it still takes some serious paperwork to get a full-auto weapon legally. Then again, who's to say it was legally purchased?

All this means nothing because, regardless of the how and why, one nut job just killed more than 50 people, injured hundreds more, and impacted thousands. That alone deserves the most attention.

Was an Interview with his brother said he has no religious or political affiliation, so where did you hear he was a conservative?
It just seemed like the narrative they were going with when i made that comment earlier. No there is nothing definitive yet. I was just questioning the original lean of the story considering choice of target. He may very well just be some crazy fuck at the end of his rope.

I ask the question Why? If anyone on here can answer that question you need to be mentally check out . just saying. The news stations have to change the way they do and say things like this, they are the problem. The one sided views by these people is creating a big problem and people with brains should see the lies. At the rate the news is being report it is causing a divide in this country that if not contained will cause civil war. Please someone change my mind because I'm feeling a little sick about this country right now.

Would be really refreshing to hear a politician ask what is wrong with our society that we produce turds like this. Hillary tweets how bad it could have been if he had a silencer like the NRA wants to legalize and the implication was nobody would have started running because nobody would have know he was shooting. What an idiot, and cold hearted as usual. Many other dems screaming for guns too. Thought Trump's address was spot on, bet he catches all kinds of hell for talking about God and scripture.

Sad, sad day, prayers for all involved

100% agree there. Bad situations are just made worse by the quick draw reporting. Assumptions and guesses before facts are known. The media is so fast to push blame and point fingers, there really is no real reporting anymore. Just have a half assed opinion and a pretty face and keep the ratings up. These talking heads on TV and social media really should take a step back and be ashamed of themselves. Between these nut job shooters, the black lives matter clowns, and political division, future looks dark.

Give it a few days. Let the police and investigators do their job. A motive will surface. Anybody want to go kill some ducks?

OK new reports saying ISIS is now claiming responsibility as the gunman supposedly converted to islam a few months ago and some are reporting that there are things they are finding he left behind in writings and social media posts are supporting this as the reasoning..............wait and see I guess anything is possible in todays sick world:(.

But like someone already stated, the media wants to immediately blame guns, its not the guns you idiot, its the f'ckd up individual with the gun...for gods sake, get it right for once.

When guns are almost always the weapon of choice, the media is of course going to talk about guns and AR's.

Of course the media says it's the guns fault. Could've taken out just as many driving a vehicle into the crowd. God damn media

Why do you think he chose a gun over a vehicle?

Unfortunately a North Dakotan from Minot was there, and was shot twice but in stable condition. Andrew Gudmunson was quite the athlete for Minot in high school and actually played baseball/football at UND. Sounds like more surgeries for him in the future. Prayers that he is on the mend.

Forgot about bump stocks that could definitely explain the slower rate of fire vs standard AK and M-16's. Either that or a big old belt fed bitch but with so many wounded vs killed it definitely jives with a 223 over a Ma deuce or the like at the range he was shooting.

A top legal executive at CBS, Hayley Geftman-Gold, is in hot water after she reacted to horrifying events in Las Vegas by posting on Facebook that she was "not even sympathetic" to shooting victims because "country music fans often are Republican gun toters.”
“If they wouldn’t do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs will ever do the right thing,” Geftman-Gold wrote on the social media platform, ostensibly referring to Congressional action in the wake of Sandy Hook. “I’m actually not even sympathetic bc country music fans often are Republican gun toters.”

Unbelievable!

wrong - totally believable

- - - Updated - - -

The Facebook page appears to have been deleted. CBS Corp. moved swiftly against Geftman-Gold.
"This individual, who was with us for approximately one year, violated the standards of our company and is no longer an employee of CBS," stated the network. "Her views as expressed on social media are deeply unacceptable to all of us at CBS. Our hearts go out to the victims in Las Vegas and their families."

to be fair - she's just some kid out of the Midwest who doesn't know any better

One of the news said the turd had taken the time to modify 10 rifles to fully auto. when the media said it was a fully auto weapon my thoughts went to a bumpstock type of modification because of the difficulties in obtaining and owning a full auto.

The media would consider a bumbstock a modified gun to auto sense saying its not is pretty much dealing with semantics of it and not the real generalities. If it was bumbstocks you can bet they are toast.

I read it was more likely a trigger crank. Which makes sense the way it sounded. Also, a bump/slide stock would have been way more erratic unless he was an absolute pro in getting it to go and also be able to lob at 300-400 yards with the thing taking you all over the place(I've shot one and it shot a lot faster when it went and accuracy was beyond horrible). Trigger crank is my bet.

It was just so eerily methodical like he was turning the crank on a gatlin gun.

There are several new triggers like the tap con that are technically not full auto, but could have been fired off like that. I'm sure a guy could find a old lightning link laying around in a pawn shop down there as well.

IMHO things like trigger cranks, bump stocks, 100 round drums are going to end up getting all semi auto rifles banned eventually. Tough to defend some of this stuff even as a gun owner and avid hunter myself.

I think the real question is how did this guy get that much ammo and weapons into a Casino in Vegas? There has to be cameras everywhere in those places ???
