Wife's car has it and I hate it, then again I don't drive it much. On interstate when I start coming within 10-15 car lengths of a slower vehicle I just turn it off then pass and back on. I know there is a way to change settings and turn feature off but I don't know how to do it exactly and for the small amount I'm driving it I just work around it instead of messing up her settings.
Either hold the button that turns the cruise on down for 3-5 sec, or hit it 2x. If that doesn't work you might be able to go into the setting and turn it off.
Some of them you can't turn off. I had a 2021 or 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe provided by a previous employer and I never could get the adaptive cruise turned off.
About the only "driver's aid" I really appreciate is the backup warnings. In many places, the sensors on the bumper can see oncoming traffic better that you can from the driver's seat or even in a backup camera. Parking lots when a higher profile vehicle is next to you or many cities down-town on-street parking spaces I find the backing-aid quite helpful.
Beyond the backing aid, please just let me drive the friggin thing.
