What is everyone's longest kill shot? I killed my elk quartering towards me at 41 yards and I've nailed a few jack rabbits between 60 and 90 yards. They are perfect for getting ready for elk hunting. An average size jack rabbit is about the size of the kill zone on an elk.

Can't wait to start stalking them in the badlands!

Longest kill with the bow is around 45 yards on a jack rabbit out in the badlands. On a deer with the bow was a doe at 35 yards. Longest with a rifle was my WY antelope last year, shot him at 350 yards in the head when he was bedded.

Lincoln, kinda...
Took a grouse with an arrow at about 65 yds a long, long time ago. Deer with a bow is probably closer to 30 yds. Rifle is right at 440 yds by GPS, done the 400+ a couple times. Not sure if I would even try that distance nowadays as I don't shoot often enough and kinda prefer sub 100 shots.

I got a doe a few years ago lasered at 63 yards but I wont do it again. it was a stalking situation and that was the absolute closest I could get provided the cover I had available. Very light wind coming directly towards me, she was in an open grassy area with her head down munching, perfect broadside shot. Still she heard it and reacted more than I anticipated, by the time the arrow arrived at its destination she had turned away and the arrow entered her rear leg on the left side and stuck into her shoulderblade on the right side, made a big mess of her insides and she didnt go far, maybe 60 yards, but it was a lot messier cleaning job than Im used to with my bow, green stinky shit everwhere and she broke my arrow when she was running also which I wasnt happy about. Farthest I will go now is 40 yards and prefer 20.

I have only shot a couple deer with the shooting strings, not exact yardage was acquired, but I would guess around 25 yards or so on both of them.

I am more of a gun hunter, but really am looking forward to bow hunting with my son wanting to getting into it.

you son of a bitch. That was a much-loved research prairie dog. You must've cut the radio collar off just before posing with the "guides" (co-conspirators)
