That one of the nice things the GF has done. Last year was my son's first year he was 6 its nice that first year cause they are guaranteed a tag. U don't need hunter safety until u are 12. But are still able to hunt everything but rifle deer until that age.

I just received my younger kids hunter safety certificates in the mail this weekend. They are legal ND hunters.

How old do they have to be to get a deer tag, my girl is 12, so I am guessing she can get a youth tag?

12 and 13 she can get youth doe tag both years and is only able to hunt during the youth season for her doe, 14-15 one year you can apply for a youth tag that can be hunting both during youth and regular rifle season.

I think 12-13 year olds can get a statewide doe tag. I think they have to be 14 to get a buck tag.

That link answers a few questions about youth hunting. I believe hunters safety is only required for deer rifle hunting. If you are under a certain age, kids can get turkey tags, shoots ducks, upland and bow hunt without it.

looks like I drew my 2nd unit of 31. saw a group of about 35 of them while out deer hunting in this area so hopefully I can bag one. Wife drew hers in unit 27. neither of us have been able to shoot one the last couple years. hopefully this is the year. I've never hunted turkeys before 2 years ago so I'm a total noob to this lol.
