I was on mission and coming home when I got a call from my wife that she was parked on the road in front of our house looking at one of our good up and comer 4X4 bucks. ;:;banghead;:;banghead;:;banghead He'd lost a fight with a fast moving Chevy and was in a bad way. We called the sheriff and finished what the vehicle had started, but it was NOT the way I wanted to be welcomed home. We've been watching this deer for a month or so now and have tons of pics and hours of visual time with him. Would've been a good deer had he lived. Anyway, we got the tag and salvaged what we could and the meat will be going to a local family. I'm not trying to be overly melancholy, but I just thought this deer was worthy of mention as many a good buck goes down, unknown and unappreciated in a similar way.
Here is a sample of what we were fortunate enough to enjoy watching........

And after the accident............
