So when teenagers obtain beer and take it to a party no other drugs are there they can try. And after a few drinks they make a bad choice to try other things mainly by peer pressure and get hooked.

Marijuana is a vice. It is something that should not be in the hands of anyone. It may be used responsibly by some but I would guess the number that wouldn't use it responsibly would greatly out weigh them.

"I would guess the number that wouldn't use it responsibly....." is not based in any sort of any fact or reality. Do you believe the same about alcohol?

If a teenager obtains beer and takes it to a party, they are already making risky decisions. This world is full of decisions a person has to make and peer pressure to face. That's not going away with ANY law. Kids eat Tide Pods for God sake....c'mon man. Should we outlaw laundry detergent?

Pretty good deductions that I stated my opinion and not fact.

Exactly right. No outlaw or leagalization of anything will stop people from doing stupid things. So give me a good reason how m3 would benefit society as a whole.

According to FBI, 1.4 million DUI arrests were made in 2003. According to the Bureau of Transportation, 3 people die every 2 hours in the US from drunk driving.

I'd say LEO resources might be spent better elsewhere....

Apparently you didn't read my post.

Good on you to formulate opinions based in no facts. I guess it's a beautiful world when you can pick and choose truth.

I find it funny that the same source you quote has this to say about alcohol:

https://www.drugabuse.gov/drugs-abuse/alcohol

I've been an addiction counselor and intake specialist at a well known rehab. Alcohol withdrawl KILLS people. Medical detox is necessary in many cases to prevent death. I'd really hate to have sleepless nights or appetite disruption as is stated with MJ "withdrawl".....News flash...."Quitting MJ makes the munchies disappear and may lead to decreased appetite and less sleepiness".

Never, and I repeat NEVER, did I do an intake on someone who was there for MJ addiction.

When I searched your source for "Is alcohol addictive?" nothing came up....I think we all know alcoholics whose lives were ruined, if not taken, from their addiction. Not to mention scientific fact of the risk of withdrawl.

Cigarettes kill, alcohol kills, oxy kills....yet all are legal and choices people can make. We spend millions upon millions waging a war against MJ because it's so much different...all while people die OD'ing in the streets while our LEO's are busy arresting and prosecuting pot heads. Gimme a break.

My point is the addiction/dependency to mj will not kill you. I am pointing out it could ruin lives because of it. No different than say gambling. I feel we have enough vices legal we dont need more. You guys want me to buy into marijuana is good for you with zero risk and zero bad consequences?

As far as money spent. Check out how much is spent on quitting cigarettes and prevention of teen users. (Yes I know this is chemically dependent)

https://www.npr.org/2013/10/13/233449505/15-years-later-where-did-all-the-cigarette-money-go

I guess I better be done. I'm only "arguing for the sake of arguing".

OUT (take 2)

I respectfully agree to disagree with your unfounded claims and misinformed opinion. I prefer factual information and first hand experiences. And no, that doesn't mean I'm a pot smoker. I've seen the things you google in real life and prefer to base my opinion on life experience instead of what I read on the internet.

Out (take 1 and only)

someone had asked exactly how legislators destroyed measure 5, medical. here it's an article explaining...
https://www.weednews.co/wtf-is-wrong-with-north-dakota-legislators-on-medical-marijuana/

Yup, Thats the "I'll show you whos the boss" attitude by our employees that I mentioned. The only bad thing is here you can't get rid of them as quick as you can with other businesses so you change their attitude by showing them they aren't our boss.

That isn't hard to see when you take the blinders off.

On the side of Achucker point of view I get it. I really do as this is good old ND and we dont like change. I don’t think society is better off with legal marijuana just like alcohol. Like I say there are no easy answers to all this. Bright side is I have a Muley tag. I win!

This (I missed a couple of days of debate for a funeral) is right. Anyone who says "it should be just like this, not that" is over-simplifying. It's not cut and dried. I also think, although I wish it weren't so, that the legislators have their own agendas..

I still feel though, that when recreational MJ is legalized, it won't be for the good of the common man. I DO think it will eventually be legalized. I will vote against it, but I'm only one person.

Measure 3 is going to pass. Lot of people think there is no need for measure 3 because medical is just around the corner. Here's a newsflash. The medical thing has been gutted so bad that nobody qualifies for it. Go look at what the qualifying conditions are, there's only like 13 of them. It's out of reach for many people, but not me lol I qualify.

Is somebody could be a computer ninja and post a big picture of medical qualifying conditions list so people could see maybe they would think again.

News outlets are reporting yes it at 51% No is 36% and undecided is 13%. Some outlets report that the poll was done by an org that is pushing for M3 some are leaving that out.

Look at Colorado, need I say more. We don’t need an influx of liberal trash flocking to our state. It might even create its own liberal trash. That alone is reason enough for me to vote against it.

I’ve heard this statement a bunch of times from different people and i just have to wonder when it’s already recreationally legal in Colorado, California, Oregon, and Washington state among other places why would a liberal hippy pick a conservative state like ND to come to.

Beyond the tax benefits, imagine how much weed tourism $$$ would flow into ND? We are surrounded by states where it is still illegal. Legalization would be huge for our economy, at least until something changes in those other states...
