It's not over till all the votes are counted but I'll accept defeat when it comes to that. I read that early votes and mail in have not included yet, I find that hard to believe but there is still a sliver of hope.

It was worth it to see Al Carlson get knocked off his pedestal, Now it's only you and Bob up there. Rumor has it that trump is going to get rid of sessions after the med terms but only time will tell. Mexican courts just ruled that their MJ laws are unconstitutional and they are in the process of a big change. I think they got it right, And Canada did too. This is only round two of a 12 round match .

I haven't taken a good look until all the numbers are in but I am happy with the election results from what I see so far. M3 wasn't good for ND but it was the shortest path to medical with the least resistance. The way the medical bill is written its nothing but a waste of my time.

Saw something very applicable last night on the Facebook. "If you won, don't gloat, if you lost, take your lumps and move on."

I hoped M3 would fail, and I guess I won. Debatable, I'm sure, by many here, whether or not ND "won". However, I also predicted that if it passed, so be it. If not, it will be back again and again and again and again and again and again (see where I'm going here?).

In my opinion, it kinda sucks that I voted, the people voted, decisions were made, people voted their conscience, but a lot would say "okay, nevermind all that, we'll just make another run at it soon.".

Oh well.

I'll reiterate this. I have zero troubles with Med MJ. If a bill is presented that actually legalizes it for that purpose, I'm all in.

Well looks like everyone got all worked up for nothing haha. I’m not sad the bill failed because evidently ND citizens didn’t want legalized MJ. I just don’t understand how smoking a joint can be so demonized while abortion in ND is legal. What a world!

You're not wrong. I'm Pro-Life 100%. Even moreso than I am against Recreational MJ. But to say that smoking a joint is nothing, because "look over there, they're killing babies" is a fractured argument.

Great point, however, on the italicized above.

Same here JayKay, same here. The argument that alcohol is worse really doesn't justify it either. Sort of like a child molester saying murder is worse. Not comparing it to MJ, just an example so don't get panties in a wad fellas.

The people have spoken. I’ll bet the “progress” on the medical bill grinds to an even slower halt now though. Not that anything the legislature did on the medicinal bill could be considered progress anyway.

My views are not the same as they were either, at the beginning of this conversation.

Enslow, wasn't trying to argue. Just to clarify. I guess I wasn't meaning to take issue with exactly what YOU said, just taking issue with the argument (one of several really) that recreational pot isn't bad because of other worse stuff is going on.

Thank God it's finally over. I'm happy that Al Carlson got knocked off that's for sure. ND wasn't ready for full legalization that is clear. Hopefully the Feds can get it off of freakin Schedule I and get it decriminalized.

FWIW there were still a lot of votes to be counted when I posted that so I had no reason to accept lumps at the time, I thought I was being generous by offering the hand shake before I went to bed. I predict we see some changes on the federal level before we see it on the state level.

I missed WCs post, didn't mean to sound like a parrot . And yes , Delighted about Al Carlson. The cause of most of the problem.

The prohibitionists won this time but I think this will be back sooner then later. I too hope the feds come to their senses and decriminalize this shit.

Getting 40% in North Dakota is kind of incredible in itself.

They are going to take the expungment part out of the measure and work on the wording to get it on the ballot again in 2 years.

Glad Heidi and Carlson are gone. That's a step in the right direction.
