ND Lakes with Pumpkinseeds?

I'm Looking for any ND lakes with Pumkinseeds or green sunfish in them. ND Game and Fish Stocking reports are kinda bogus and dont list those species even if they did stock them.

Gee MSA,our lakes here in mn is loaded with seeds,blue gills,greens and hybrid green sunfish that get quite large 12"s + seeds however run small,a trophy seed is 1.2lbs average. All sunfish are my favorite table fare,curious why you're interest in "pumpkin seeds?"

Growing up we caught them by the dozens in the pond in the middle of watertown sd. Dont know if they are still there. I would take a long floating rapala put a chunk of worm on all three hooks throw it out and float on top and catch three at a time

The only pumpkinseed I can remember catching in ND was on a small creek going into Sakakawea. The only stocking report of them I ran across was 2018 when they put 275 of them into Jamestown Reservoir. https://gf.nd.gov/magazine/2019/mar-apr/2018-fish-stocking-report

Here's a lake out east where they are listed:

• Carlson-Tande Dam (169) – 1 mile south, 5 miles west of Aneta. 2019 netting survey showed small perch, bluegill and pumpkinseeds, along with a few nice walleye and pike.

On the green sunfish, I don't believe NDGF is a fan of them. Pretty much a stunted bluegill of little value for most anglers. However, there appears to be some in Bowman county.

• Gascoyne Lake (086) – 1.5 miles northwest of Gascoyne. Northern pike stocked annually, with some fish up to 2 pounds. Some carp up to 4 pounds. Bullheads and green sunfish abundant at times.

Ive got one to mount and would like to hold a live one in my hands to see what colors and pearls are there and how I need to layer them on the mount....and I havnt caught them since I was a kid and would like a photo for proof I've caught one to add to all the other photos I have.

I've caught green sunfish in a few different creeks that run into Oahe. A former colleague said they got pumpkin seeds out of Bever creek or a feeder creek that runs into Beaver over in the Linton area.

I never seen em so they could have been green sunfish he misidentified.

Quite a few years ago was with the wife's uncle on the mighty Ashtabula and he caught one. Might be 8-10yrs now. Wasn't big but sure was pretty

Not ND but our lake cabin in heaven in northern MN, we have caught many gills that are/were picture worthy. Good luck on your search!

MSA as summer is half over sunfish,crappies scatter here in mn usually found hanging out below thermal kline (cooler water) in our deeper lakes.

Come spring water temps mid 60's as a rule we find and sight fish schools of spawning gills with beautiful seeds mixed in the moon scape spawning beds usually 3 to 4'fow ,very aggressive critters protecting nests,(male fish in spawning colors and full of piss when you grab em) iffin no luck this summer MSA I can put you on your quest next spring for your wall hanger if it interests you. FYI.

You won't find many pure green sunfish in MN, from my experience, they're mostly hybrids. There are plenty of pumpkinseeds around the shore this time of year though
