" come west my friend you've been told ......"

some hard work, determination and of course a little luck and trophies can be had in many western states all 100% public land.

not what I heard.....;:;popcorn

well what were you told? Even if they did pay for access what does your typical big horn hunt run 50000. still the cheapest sheep hunt a resident of SD will go on if he paid 10000 grand

in reality i dont care how much it cost the guy sheep hunting is not a cheap hobby. That 3000 k to draw the tag in wyoming is chicken scratch and an awesome chance to hunt sheep. The only other option if not spending 25000 grand on a Dall is the unlimited in MT and there is a reason they are unlimited haha

yes it is. I was finally hit with a large 2x6 about 3 years ago as hes very good friend in each others weddings etc and had been telling me to apply for whatver I want. $150 a point plus the cost of the tag isn't cheap but like you said you wont find a cheaper sheep hunt in my case with free access and pretty much guaranteed tag, I have been up there on the mountain 2x and saw bighorns both times. collared ram the one time and from what I can see they are dumber than shit just stood there this was during elk season so they obviously don't get a shit ton of hunting pressure. so I basically decided I aint getting any younger and if im gonna start taking advantage of this I better start grabbing points for whatever I can alas here I am following sheep threads ….

i dont know if i will ever afford one but i would not be opposed to just going and being a sherpa to have the experience some day. I have an uncle in alaska but dont think he is up to it any more wish i would have known what i know now about 20 years ago when he moved there

Mass is king. So if it’s broomed U get way more mass. Every mass measurement is bigger if it’s broomed
I read it this way , mass measurement stopped at D4 then they measure the total length , so if he had the tip he would gain a little ??

I have no idea on measuring rams but if its like an antelope its in qtrs. so you take the length divide it into quarters so if that's the case yes a little off the length cut throw that 4th mass measurement back and gain mass??

Not sure but by the picture it looks like the last mass measurements are before the tip a ways and the length would help the score .

The way I understand it, if he's broomed his tips down, that's gonna move the D1-D4 up closer to the base on the circumference, and assuming that a typical ram is thickest at the base and thins from there on outward, the D2-4 would grow in circumference length. My only question would be whether or not that would be more of a gain than what the overall beam length would lose.

A single broomed tip is gonna hurt the score.

sign me up for that addiction meeting. For some reason my stupid brain thinks that I'll be drawing a tag in a particular area this year. So I spent WAY too much time this morning researching a tag I probably wont draw. Not that it matters, once I find out I didn't draw it in 2 weeks I'll just be looking at other areas every day until August.....

Frosty, them park rams or are you gonna send some coordinates? ;)
