that's certainly not a clear enough picture to determine that. And if that is a jig it could be caught in the net.
Not gonna lie, if I was just an average joe walking over from the trailer park carrying my ugly stick to do some work in the snag hole there it might have been hard to let her go! ha ha

I watched it several times. I did see him scraping dirt off the fish prior to taking a picture though. Maybe that's what people think is him removing the hook. I don't know and honestly I could care less anymore. No hair out of my ass whether the record is sixteen pound of fifteen pounds lol.How about you actually watch the video, maybe even pause it when it gets to the part where he takes the jig out. that’s never been my experience - it’s often just a pinhole after removal
the snag occurred and held because it was placed in very tough tissue - that’s why it stayed hooked up in the first place
if a tear/gash occurs that means the hook is no longer capable of holding
