I watched the video once.... and its too painful to watch again. I seen the picks of the video first, and still missed the part where he takes the hook out of its back. I read one of the statements of witnesses, and now that the net guy said it was hooked in the back I'm leaning towards foul hooked. But he netted it, slung the net over his back, how is he so sure it wasn't mouth hooked when he netted it? IDK, I guess with his statement and witnesses saying it was coming in backwards is enough.

Last night my wife caught a walleye that WASN'T HOOKED. She reeled in her rod, and it had a small (14") walleye on but when she got it too and in the net, it just let go of its bite on the 6" creek chub we had for bait.

Am I missing something, like page 7 of that report?
Seems that page 7 would have some juicy details.

Also missing from that report is the interview of the warden who first certified. Seems that person would be pertinent to an investimugashun, which is now closed?

I just dont understand how if GF determines Laws violated, and states attourney agrees laws violated.
Why nothing but a warning, and even with a warning, still shouldnt get to keep the fish?

I still haven’t heard one witness other than Volk say the hook was in the mouth, not even his pal the extreme net man. G&F made a good decision.

This was on the KMOT web site yesterday.

BISMARCK, N.D. - There's more to the disqualified record walleye than initially thought.

North Dakota Game and Fish released the investigation report, saying the angler who reeled it in hooked it near a dorsal fin, not the mouth.
The information was then sent to the Morton County state's attorney, who ultimately made the decision about the fish being illegally hooked.
The Game and Fish used a four-minute video to deny Tom Volk the state record for a walleye catch. The April 21 video was a crucial part of the agency’s investigation, which investigators got from a confidential informant.
Over the next nine days, investigators spoke with various witnesses who said the fish was improperly hooked.
On April 24, a lawyer, who was representing both Volk and a friend who netted the walleye, called Game and Fish, saying his clients wouldn't provide statements to the agency.
The friend then called the agency on April 30, telling Game and Fish he would sit and interview with them. At this point he was no longer represented by the lawyer. During his May 1 interview, he told them he never saw the hook in the fish in the water and couldn't tell if it was hooked in the mouth, belly or tail. He also told the investigators that Volk asked him to see an attorney and Volk would pay for it.

Volk told investigators on May 2 he wouldn't provide a statement under the advice from his attorney.
Morton County state’s attorney Allen Koppy sent a letter on May 6 saying his team concluded the fish was improperly hooked.
Game and Fish called Volk on May 10, saying his catch wouldn't be recognized and he was given a written warning for illegally possessing a foul hooked fish.
Volk spoke to us on May 14, saying he's 100-percent confident the fish was hooked in the mouth and he had witnesses supporting that claim. He told us he will mount the catch on the wall.

Honest is rarely used in any part of the world these days. Fact #2 is that the videographer from behind Volk sucks ASS. That person should just hand all future video tasks to another person. There's three minutes of the shoreline sand and about five seconds of the fish being held by Volk.

A punk to Mr. Volk for, what I believe to be, an altered story. Fact #3 is a super punk to the ND G&F for the written warning and allowing Mr. Volk to keep his harvest. Poor decision making all around.
