So, I am tired of my outboard moving left or right on its own while I am trolling. Clearly this changes the direction of the boat and is frustrating especially if I am changing out lures or simply moving around in the boat (deep V hull is sensitive to this). I fish by myself a lot and am constantly having to make steering corrections while using the big motor or kicker motor linked to big motor.
I am looking at replacing the basic (circa 1999) steering helm with the single cable that I have now with a no feedback steering version.
Any recommendations or practical advice on which type of NFB steering helm to get? Or any installation pitfalls to avoid?
