$314k per regular season game. That doesn't include any offseason work however.

Nolan Ryan once said: "Playing in the MLB is a dream. Training for the MLB is a nightmare."

These guys sacrifice life to even have a shot at the MLB. Most don't ever make it, let alone be Juan Soto.

How much does that come out to per game also?
$765,000,000➗=$51,000,000 annually
$51,000,000➗162=$315,000/game
(regular season approximate, not including playoff games which I hope they never play along with the ridiculous spending Dodgers)
Getting stupid and I've always been a fan of a cap for the mlb and/or watching homegrown talent leave for the big market teams but that's a whole nother beast.
SKOL!🙏🙏

Cat, here’s a thought
$5 hotdogs $8 beers and lower ticket prices so the average family can afford to go.

Then they would need to pay players less because they wouldn’t be taking in as much money
I don't disagree at all. Taking my family to a game once a year takes financial planning - not something we do on a whim. I'd love to see prices revert, I'm with you. People need to stop paying for it for it to happen.

There was ONE guy in MLB that played in all 162 games last year, and it wasn't Soto. So dividing by 162 is maybe not the right number. Days off for "mental health" to "regen" or maybe they accidently stepped on a labia coming out of the shower and have a bruised vagina.

The home stretch is going to be exciting for the rest of the season, this weekend the pack play the seachickens and the lions play the bills. We get the da bears on Monday night
All sam has to do is play smart football like he has been

Only way to see those prices is people not attending the events and those that do don't purchase anything.

Looks like you need to go to games and be an Atlanta falcons fan.

We've had this conversation here before. Who should get the money if not the athletes? The owners? Unless people stop going to games, buying merch, watching games then the money keeps rolling in. Why shouldn't the people doing the work get their "fair" share? Owners are still making money hand-over-fist even with paying the salaries. There are literally a handful of people in the world who can play at the level of the highest paid athletes and they are mortgaging their future health for our entertainment.
Most of these stadiums are tax exempt, and publicly financed/built. Owners threaten to move teams unless they get the general public to pay for their empires. Its all good, as there are choices made in all of this, but to say a specific athlete is earning that huge pay is ludicrous.
I attend a pro game every so often, as time and money allows, but paying $200 a seat, and buying $50 bucks worth of one dog, and one beer doesn't make me want to go all too often.
I don't blame the player, the owner, or the city. Take what you can get for sure, just isn't really neat for the rest of us.

I am glad I grew up in the time period that I did.
These prices that they are charging now are asinine.
Yes, I can certainly afford it now, but there is no way I would or will pay these prices.
Also since the BLM kneeling ordeal, we haven't spent a dime on any games or sports teams items.

I never thought I'd say this but I'd rather have Darnold than Joe Burrows

Not an NFL fan - but I notice most game highlight commercials now feature these ridiculous peacocks on display arriving for their game.

I wonder what it means. They have unimaginable wealth and popularity on the field... and their lust for attention is still not satiated?

Maybe it's the wives/GF's that are competing? by trying to dress their baes more ridiculously than their peers?

I just typed the word baes and threw up in my mouth a little.

I've seen you strutting your stuff, is the science field feeling a bit of the competition?

Attention = cash in their world.

Anything, and I mean just about anything non-Diddy like, increases their name recognition in a positive way.

I wonder how much Sam’s hand is affecting his accuracy he seemed off last night . They need to adjust the play calls when teams are getting through so fast . Not going to complain already have 8 more wins then I expected. Just enjoying the ride
