When I first acquired my concealed carry, I was carrying everywhere. I now just leave one in my vehicles, and boat. I haven't carried in a long time.
I am closer between old aged than middle aged, in other words not a young guy. I have never personally been in the position of needing a weapon, thank God. A good friend once held an intruder of his home at gun point until the cops arrived. So yes it can and does happen.

I don't wear a diaper either, for those just incase moments, but once wished I would have been.

Maybe I should do both!! I wonder if you can safely put a piece in an adult diapers waist band?

I dont object to having a gun on the boat at all. I just dont carry one because i have a giant cooler full of sandwiches and goodies and that takes up all my room...

You would likely shoot yourself in the sack anyway.

You see the problem with Skynyrd is it is southern rock, and that is no longer allowed. I heard they once had old Dixie waving in one of their shows about 35 years ago. This is not the era of the Dukes of Hazard, and you are not boss hogg.

Time to enter the era of acceptance, except for certain things that some find unacceptable.

Really disappointed in you svnmag

Pretty sure it's illegal to conceal carry while fishing and all hunting stave for bow hunting. Please verify mr. Expert.

You ever hear the story about that guy that Glocked a bull moose whilst bowhuntng a few years back? Crazy stuff.

I'll give it a shot tomorrow. I've only had the permit for a couple weeks, it's still got the new car smell so I'm just breaking it in. And, just incase the net warriors move in on me I'll be able to fire off a couple warning shots, that seems to always do the trick I was told. But no seriously, I plan on an early morning unload at the hook, afternoon shenanigans maybe hit the casino for a break, and then unload for the evening somewhere else. Just me and the wife, I'm quite certain she's got a mean left hook, but I'd rather have a little better backup incase something does happen late. My normal fishing buddy is all I usually need for security, he's a human wrecking ball and quite certain he shits bigger than king kong himself.

Self protection is not a geographic or situational endeavor. If a person wants to carry, then carry. What you're doing is as irrelevant as where you are doing it. Is carrying while fishing any different than carrying while going to dinner with your wife? To me, it's all the same. The same responsibility exists in either situation with respect to actions and consequences. It is incumbent upon each person to choose to carry, or not. Just as it is incumbent upon each person to choose to draw your weapon or not to draw your weapon.......and then you must accept the consequences of that decision.......good or bad. If a person is not prepared, mentally or physically to accept those responsibilities or the consequences thereof, then, IMO, that person should leave the weapon at home.

I was combat fishing ship creek in downtown Anchorage last fall and fishing was pretty slow. Almost everyone picked up and headed home right before dark, but I was planning on staying until I had my limit. An old native guy walked in and started casting and snagging my line. I asked him nicely to please move down a bit to keep from all the tangling. His next cast he intentionally snagged my waders, just missing my leg. I cut his line so he would stop jerking to get his hook back. Things escalated quickly then and he flashed a pistol and advised I best leave. I flashed him my phone and said the cops wouldn't take to kindly to such an action. Luckily he left and I caught the rest of my salmon with leaking waders.

My thoughts exactly...that being said, I carry more often than not. I usually swim my dog in the river fairly late at night or real early in the morning...have had a couple instances of people of the meth head mentality want to cause trouble for the pup. We usually leave and find a little quieter place to swim...Never once have I ever even indicated I was carrying, but its always nice to have the option if it every escalated.

WOW! are thing that crazy in north Dakota these days? A guy can't spend an evening relaxing while fishing and then worry about the boat ramp or what or who might be lurking there...
