This thread took a hard left turn but I would like to add that the article posted was from the MN-FISH meeting on Thursday. I attended the DNR Fisheries Summit on Saturday in Brainerd and the topic came up again. I can't say what the work groups discussed about ffs as I was in the Catfish Work Group Meeting. The group meeting in the afternoon spent time on ffs and the DNR insists that it has not plans to ban or even put in special regs at this time. The biologists say they do not have evidence of population decline yet and said that special regs could open doors for other issues. They were very clear to say the situation is being monitored.
