Red River in Manitoba

Any body been up to fish the red near lake winnipeg this time of year before? I hear the greenbacks are thick up there if you time it right...

It has been a few years for me but I got a call from a good friend last week saying "get up here it's on." I have never had the numbers game up there but have caught 3 of my 6 biggest walleyes there.

Where do people stay?
What portion of the river do you focus on?
What techniques do you use?
Does the bite last right up till freeze up?

plan to stay in Selkirk, Selkirk Inn is the only one I know of. Seems nice, I have never stayed there but been there with other people.

I have heard up north near End of Main is better than closer to Selkirk this year. We like jig and shiner working drop offs and edges. I know of guys who pull cranks too
