I believe that special led to the X-mark pro trigger AKA crap triggers. The more recent recalls I am not familiar with. I declined Remington's offer to return the original 700 triggers and never kept the X-mark craps in a gun.

I wish remington would send me a box of the originals..........good triggers.......

I must say I don't get all the hate on the x mark pro trigger. The one on in my new 7mm is really not bad. It's reasonably light with pretty much zero creep. It's better than I expected from a factory trigger.
To be fair, I don't have much experience with the original 700 trigger, but I'm not clueless either. I have Geislle, Jewel, and Timney triggers in some of my other guns. Yes, those are all much better than the x mark pro, but still, it's not bad.

If there's one gripe about my 700 it's that the trigger is heavy. But there is ZERO creep. In fact, it still startles me to this day and I've been shooting it since I was 16. It goes from feeling like you're pressing against a wall to the sharp kick of the ought-six.

I've mulled the idea of getting a different trigger, but I've been shooting it so long and hitting things so often that I figure there's no point.

So after doing some research, I am looking at the SPS tactical, 20" threaded barrel(For a suppressor to be added later). Trying to stay within budge, will probably put a Vortex Optic on top, thinking a 4-16x44. Should be a solid platform that I can upgrade over time.

308. I was also looking at 6.5 creedmore, but I don't see that caliber offered in this platform.

My EX has a 700 AAC in 308 and she loves it. Dead nuts accurate, Hogue over moulded stock and it's already threaded.

Dirty, I've had a few slam fires. None of those came from non-modified triggers. I measure trigger pulls in ounces though, not pounds.

It's not that bad but I'll suggest to try it on the biggest POS .22 you have laying around that you don't shoot anymore for the first time, been there and had to grind Devcon off on an already tack driving 788 Rem, not fun.

I've had several 788's that were tack drivers and somehow let them slip away. I'd love to have one more in either 222 or 22-250.

That's why I want someone to show me the ropes the first time. My firearms are members of my family, I couldn't stand doing them harm.
