Smoke a doobie!
I think this would make me pee the bed more than I already do. Exercise or stretching before bed works pretty good when I do it, I am usually just too tired to exercise thoughWe have a little bluetooth speaker in our bedroom that is linked up to one of our phones. We have a "rain" sound that just continuously loops throughout the night.
I can sleep pretty good if the room is cool and quiet. The biggest thing that gets me is noise. I sleep pretty well, but light. Getting descent exercise and avoiding alcohol will give a guy the most restful sleep. If I feel like I need a sleep aid, I use melatonin. It is the natural hormone that makes you sleepy. The only downside I have experienced is that it won't keep you asleep for a full night if you are experiencing sleeplessness. It sure makes me fall asleep and doesn't give me fog head, though.

P.S. It also gives some ultra vivid dreams at times. Kinda fun, if they aren't too far out there.
You're not really drunk unless you shit the bed. In which case I've been drunk 4 timesI think this would make me pee the bed more than I already do. Exercise or stretching before bed works pretty good when I do it, I am usually just too tired to exercise though![]()

Once asleep, I am out cold. Falling asleep is my issue. I can't get my mind to stop thinking.
I use my outdoor hot tub nearly every single night. Unless the wind is howling, or it's raining buckets. Summer/winter, doesn't matter. Nearly every night I spend at least 15 minutes out there.
I likely would never have bought a tub, but it came with the house. Now I'm hooked. When it dies, I'll have to go buy one.
Alternately, a hot shower or bath before crawling into a cool bed, is wonderful. I usually am asleep before my head hits the pillow. I realize now, after reading this thread, how lucky I am to sleep well.
As far as getting my brain to shut off, I am lucky to have no troubles. Most days, it never even turns on.

You are lucky , I am usually good for about 3 or 4 hours at a time then I wake up and have to get up and move around so I pretty much go to bed twice a night. I used to sleep on my back like Eyexer but Omar the tent maker kept waking up and throwing the covers on the floor .
Way more than we needed to know. You're not really drunk unless you shit the bed. In which case I've been drunk 4 times

We have a little bluetooth speaker in our bedroom that is linked up to one of our phones. We have a "rain" sound that just continuously loops throughout the night. My wife has been a cruddy sleeper ever since we met. Went to the Dr. last week and they told her to try the rain sounds and has worked very well for her. The trick to it is to find something that is strictly rain or running water or whatever. No birds chirping or anything like that, just the sound of the water. Also, we have our thermostat set to drop the temperature of the whole house down to 64 at night, that helps both of us sleep.
While I don't buy into the "I need a $60 pillow to sleep well", I am a firm believer that a new pillow every few months drastically improves my sleep. If I have to fold my pillow to get comfortable, it's time for a new one. The other indicator that it's time for a new pillow for me is if I start waking up with headaches or if I wake up with a sore neck.
As for being sick, my wife has had the same hacking/mucousy coughing pressure in the head sickness for the last month+. She went to the Dr. and they told her she has a sinus infection. Netti pot (or something like it) and I think some meds and she'll get over it.
If your even slightly overweight and have a hard time getting good sleep, maybe look into having a sleep study done. My wife forced me to have one done a few years ago because I snored so bad and I would stop breathing in my sleep (sometimes for pretty extended amounts of time). After having the study done I was issued a cpap machine and I'm so glad I have it now. The sleep I get is of much better quality and my wife is happy because I don't snore. It took a bit of getting used to, but now if I sleep without it, I feel like shit. Absolutely worth the investment.
If it was the runs, you can do that sober. If it was a log, that would qualify.
