Pretty standard now days for them to ask. Lowes always asks my cell phone number. . . I asked why they needed it last time I was there and she said for returns. I asked why my receipt wasn't good enough for me to return an item. I'm sure they just don't know, like you said probably for advertising or something.

Have you made any major purchases at Lowes? The phone number is how they save your purchase history, and buying appliances or anything that needs to be delivered or is way to big to carry through the store. You tell the guy in appliances what you what, he invoices it under your name, address, and phone number. You go up front to pay and the cashier up front punches in your phone number and your order pulls up on the screen. Also, the phone number keeps all your purchases under it if you ever need to return something that you LOST the receipt on or if you need to look something up. Several times it has saved me. Paint color being number one, could pull up the color, tint, everthing. Also had a appliace damaged when it was delivered. Nothing major, a little ding in the upright freezer i bought. They punched in the phone number, pulled up the order, sent me a adjusted receipt with a 10% discount on it in the mail. Didn't have to take my paper receipt up to Bismarck and spend a half a day getting it straightened out.

I just have their free card that you sign up online and you can track everything. I haven't purchased anything large from them anyways. Generally I buy bigger items from Menards during 11% rebate sales.

So you're mad because they won't let you use a credit card that doesn't have your name on it??? OK..........

Who do you think if liable for non-authorized charges on someone else's card? The business. As a business owner myself I wouldn't let you use it either.
they're the only business in two years that have even questioned it. It's not like it was a different last name. And I had three insurance cards in my wallet I showed them all bearing her name and mine. So like I said they lost a customer. I'm sure scenic sports will appreciate the added business. It's also where I use this card several times a week for fuel, etc lol.

I wouldn't accept a card that didn't have your name on it either. I would tell your lazy *** to take the 10 minutes to get a new card in your name. That is just opening up a bad avenue of liability for a business.

that's funny, the hundreds of business's I've done business with haven't had a problem. Guess they don't care. It's actually a great way to determine where you do business lol
