Going to get a large increase in SS so they say. Example. Last year butter cost 2.50 # now 4.00 # if you can find it on sale for that. 8.7 persent increase in SS is .22 per # go figure. Going to have to use a lot less to make ends meet. LB

I was told yesterday that Congress passed themselves a 21 % raise that was tied to some defense spending or Ukraine aid bill.
Can't say if true but certainly wouldn't doubt it.

Also everytime there is a raise in SS, Medicare puts their hand out for a big chunk of it. Buddy just told me he heard Medicare premiums will be going down. Wow, if that is true that has to be the first time ever!
Supposed to be a 8.7% SS raise.

Saw an economist report that by 2027 just the interest payments on our national debt will be more than all healthcare spending. By 2047 it will be more than all healthcare + discretionary spending. By 2049 it will be more than all healthcare + discretionary spending + social security. That's if we stop passing annual budgets with a deficit and don't add to any more to our debt (haha).

At lease you guys are getting social security, by the time I'm at retirement age I'll be assigned to a Chinese salt mine to pay for it!

Not bothered by the fact that people who paid into SS are getting a raise at all..unfortunately, won't touch real inflation. Not sure where the 8.7% they keep throwing around comes from, because I don't know of anything that isn't up 25%+
