Suzuki kicker

I am buying a different boat with a yamaha and am going to add a kicker. I like the idea of efi with the suzuki but not the mis-matched motors. Is the efi really that much better? Or are the newer carbed yamaha 9.9s ok? Thanks

I've got a 2012 9.9 Yamaha kicker. It's been flawless. I do need to pump the bulb and choke to start the 1st time each day. Let it idle for a couple minutes and then I can make minute adjustments to the throttle with my I-Troll and the motor responds accordingly.

If I was buying new today, I'd still have to go w/EFI.

Does pushing a green button and the engine actually starts interest you? If so the Suzuki is your huckleberry. It's like flipping a light switch and it's running.

Those EFI Suzuki's are nice. Had a 2016 high thrust. Started first push every time, no priming, worked great with my itroll.

you could always have your suzuki painted to match the yamaha.

EFI is your huckleberry. Although I had T8 Yamaha that always ran great.
