Our washing machine started acting up, squealing, shutting down and such. I'd bought the 5 year extended warranty and right now it's 4 1/2 yrs old so I called and filed a claim to get someone out to look at it. Entered my info and it basically said I was out of the service coverage range so that had me concerned, figured I'd have to haul it to the store or something. Anyways long story short yesterday I got an email saying:

I didn't send them a pic or video or anything and they basically gave us a full refund.
What's crazy is when we bought the set the sales woman asked if we wanted to purchase the extended warranty. I said no and she says I would because I've never sold one to a person that didn't use it! So I told her we better buy it then.
I guess they don't build them like they used to, our old Kenmore set was at least 15 years old probably more like 20.
Anyways ran to Bismarck and bought a new one..with the extended warranty plan! She wants to try a front loader, tried to talk her out of it but I guess we'll live and learn.

A bit off topic but we had a front loader at our last house and loved it. The house we bought had a top load without the center agitator - can't stand it. Would replace it with a front load but it was only a year old when we bought the house so trying to tolerate it for a few years to get some use out of it before replacing it.

We bought a front loader used years ago. We've had to replace the plastic catch latch a few times but it's a real fix.

Great news on the extended warranty. That just shows you how much they're making as a company. Overpriced piece of shit is what you get, no matter the appliance. Our new home came with appliances. The refrigerator wouldn't get cold. The dealer tried pulling the old well you must go through the Fridgadair warranty. Long story short they tried helping us with Frigidaire and got nowhere, and told them to bring me a new one out of one of those other homes on their lot like mine, and they finally did. MFers. I'll bet my grandmother's 1960s fridge my brother uses for bait will outlast it.

Everything nowadays is disposable. Shit don't last. An appliance repairman a couple years ago said don't buy the expensive junk with the name. He said the no name junk will last just as long.

Extended warranties...be in vehicles, appliances, etc...are a money maker....for the ppl, companies selling them...they are an expensive scam. I don't believe in them. They just add to the cost with it all going to..the car dealer / appliance seller.

My wife wanted a front loader so I just laid the top loader on its side. Leaks a little and rattles but saved me from buying a new one.

I feel as though they seem to both clean clothes the same, one is just way more maintenance.

We bought a speed queen from flecks in Bismarck a few years ago when our old whirlpool washer gave out. It is a top load, with an agitator. Seems to be working well, as we do a load of laundry daily. Was more expensive than most other washers, but seemed simpler. We didn't need a washer with wifi capability, or fancy colors, etc. The link below is the one we have.

Whirpool front load set --- I cant remember what year --- they wont die. I did have the dryer stop one time -- you tubed it and i soddered a piece on the mother board.

x2 We went through that too. Will never do a front loader again. Plus "impossible" to get clothes out of it. LOL

the top loader needs a center agitator IMO then you are good to go.

Yes this is issue with front loaders have to leave door open

I remember my Mom talking about the first Maytag washer they bought. With 7 kids and 2 adults that washer lasted over 30 yrs and was moved to 5 different towns when my Dad was moving up the ladder for a power company. I would love to know how many loads of laundry that washer washed. Now days if we get 7 or 8 yrs with no kids at home were lucky.
