Traxion I was thinking the same thing about campers. Twice as big at half the weight and less money. I guess it's the 2016 version of he 1965 hippies.
Have you seen how shitty the average camper is built? Theres a reason they are half the weight and less money. Take a trip through the bakken and see what you have to do to one to make it even the slightest bit habitable in the winter. The average stick built tiny home is a million times better quality.
I think the tiny house idea is cool. IMO the average American is consumed by possessions. We simply work our asses off in alot of cases to keep up with the jones' and spend too much of our time to pay off the debt for things we want, not need. Another reason the rest of the world hates us, we are pretty much glutenous pigs
Could I live in a so called tiny house? probably not. Could I go back to living in a 800 square foot small house? Hell yes! And I plan to go back to that since I've realized that the 3,000 sq foot home we built because we thought we needed more room, we really dont.
And then I can go back to spending a hell of alot more time on stuff I want to do rather than working for, on, or around the big home that seems to be the norm now days. Having ZERO mortgage frees up alot of time and money.
Also keep in mind that alot of these tiny home people are living in areas where they aren't cooped up inside 9 months out of the year due to the damn weather. Hell in the summer, I bet my family is inside less than an hour a day that we aren't sleeping. But I'm still paying for those 3,000 square feet.
I look back to 50-60-70 years ago when people raised families of 6 in houses less than 1000 sq feet. That was the norm, and they did just fine.

I was watching it with my family over Easter and a dude made a comment about is particular tiny house doesn't have the " privacy or the storage I need" and I thought to myself really? I'm not sure you understand the concept of a tiny house. I then thought about every outdoor enthusiasts like myself in ND. Boat, ATV, trailer to haul ATV many many guns, pickup to haul said boat, not any one of us in ND could do this.
Whoever said the single, young people hit it spot on as my single 23 year old sister in law thought this was a neat concept I'm sure she thinks Bernie is neat as well.......fkn kids
haha.. "kids" what are you? like 30?
Its a good thing that young people think that tiny houses are a neat idea. At least they aren't thinking that a big house and a ton of debt are the only ways to go.
