Anyone remember this title from the Outdoor Life magazines? I used to love reading the fishing and hunting mini stories. Perhaps this thread could be used for something like that. I will start.
10/21/2018 - I was pitching a 1/4 ounce jig for walleyes on the river and had about 10 feet of line out when I felt a thump. I set the hook and in the clear water I saw a large fish roll and I believed it to be a large pike. I was fishing by myself. The fish made several runs and the boat was now in the main current so that worked against me. It took a few minutes before I was able to lift the fish to the surface where I got a good look at the big pike. The jig was nicely hooked in the lip so I wasn't worried about getting bit off. I played her out and hand landed her being careful to not let my fingers get into the gill rakers. I lifted her in the boat, put her on the scale where she hit 20.4lbs and then took a selfie before letting her go.
