Time for a New Depthfinder- Suggestions?

It looks like the GPS function on my H-Bird bit the dust. I want to get a unit with side imaging and mapping and under $1000 or so. Any opinions on Garmin over the others. What has the best built-in maps for Sak?

I dumped my lowrance for a Garmin and at this point it's been a great decision

Garmin --is your huckleberry ---- $599 for a new 9" non touch screen and transducer included - and you can always add the pano on it.
